South Indian Tomato chutney

 South Indian Tomato Chutney

Ingredients:

Tomatoes: 4 big size chopped in medium size pieces

Onion: 1 chopped

Olive oil: 1tsp

dry red chilies: 2

urad dal : 1tsp

chana dal: 1tsp

Kadi patta: few leaves

dry coconut  powder: 2Tbsp


Recipe:

  • Heat oil in a pan and add urad dal, chana dal, red chilies and slightly sauté them, once dals turn red in color, add onions and saute it.
  • Now add chopped tomatoes, kadi patta and salt to taste.
  • Once tomatoes are mushy. turn off the flame and let the mixture cool down a little
  • Blend the mixture and then add coconut powder and mix it properly.
  • Optional: can add hot 1/2 tsp ghee with  hing and mustard seeds on top
